Teaching peasants

I decided that the peasant horses at the clinic needed to be shown how to work on a lunge line. All of them were being a bit silly and not doing their transitions well. Part of being a royal horse is teaching peasants proper decorum...the things I must do.

The things I do for my kingdom

It is hard being a royal horse. One must take care of the residents of your kingdom. The SPS wanted to attend a clinic and needed a horse to ride. Seems he of the spotty butt still isn't working correctly so he can't be ridden...he is such a peasant horse. I took it upon myself to grace the clinic with my presence and allowed the SPS to ride me at said clinic. I was admired by all in attendance. I do have to point out the I was slightly humbled and embarrassed when the SPS became unseated. I was doing some evasive maneuvers at one end of the arena which was made up of a jump up, a jump sideways, and a sit down spin at top speed...one must stay in top form. Well the spin was one move to many for the SPS. I made sure to maintain a more regal demeanor for the rest of the clinic and we had a good time.

Clinic

I am taking the SPS to a Nate Smith clinic tomorrow. I have found it is a good practice to reward your servants by entertaining them at such events. I know it will be work for both of us, but the SPS is used to hard work and I can be regal for a full day if needed.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone, seize the moment and enjoy.

I want to go to school!

Soooo, there is a young lady at HMS that is keeping me from going to school. I would really like to go to school, I hear that it is a bunch of fun! What does this young lady need to do so I can go to school? All she needs to do is say "Horse please" and then the SPS will bring me to her school. In fact I get to come to school any color the little girl would like. So say it loud, say it proud, please just say it so I can visit HMS....HORSE PLEASE!

Beauty mark

This is my royal nose. It has a beauty mark on it. All royal horses are blessed with a beauty mark. I think the SPS has not been around many royal horses because she has commented, in front of me, to other humans about the wart on my nose. I am terribly disappointed that she doesn't recognize a royal marking. I also want to point out that even if it is a wart, which it isn't, it is the best wart that any horse has ever had.
I received a royal pedicure by the farrier this weekend. The farrier was impressed with my royal rock crushing hooves. I was inspected by the equine therapist this past Saturday. She complemented me on my physic. She said that I have the body of a much younger horse. I did come close to giving her a royal hoof because she kept goosing me to get me to tuck my bum.

Glowing

I like this photo, it looks like I have a glow about me. I would call it a royal halo, but it is around my nose. I think it is the aura of my royal self that escapes with my every breath.

Pure joy

See that closed eye? Can't you feel the pleasure that this look shows? This is the look the my SPS sees as I eat the grain and supplements that she brings me each evening. As I savor each bite the SPS brushes me and rubs my neck and back. I love this evening ritual, it is the kind of treatment that I should have at all times.

A young girl's love

The SPS fell in love with a horse when she was a small girl. This horse was not just any horse, it was a royal horse. A royal horse captured in an image of three rosettes in a fancy breast collar her grandfather owned. She has that breast collar and would often look at it, remembering the love that started as a little girl. When the SPS first saw my picture she thought of the horse in the rosettes. When she saw me in person she fell in love, I was the royal horse that she dreamed of as a small girl. I am the royal horse from the rosettes. Isn't it wonderful how a young girls dream can come true with time. A 51 year old lady is now blessed by the presence of the royal horse of her childhood dreams.

Royal crown

So he of the super spotty butt was upset that I was wearing his bridle. Imagine how I felt, reduced to putting in my royal mouth a bit that had been in the mouth of a peasant. Fortunately I was able to convey to my SPS that I would not tolerate not having my own bridle. She manage to acquire a headstall befitting my royal nature. I especially appreciate the rosettes, while the horses are not white like me they are indeed of a regal nature. The headstall matches a breast collar that the SPS's grandfather owned, that she now has. I wore this royal crown the last time we went for a ride and worked nicely. The other horses were clearly impressed and gave me the adulation that I so deserve.

They eat dirt!

This photo was taken during January. As you can see I am busy moving my subjects around, notice my royal robe of regal green? The SPS wonders why I continually herd any of my pasture mates around like cattle. Well if she could see them like I do she would understand, in fact she would chase them around too. My current pasture mate eats dirt, what kind of horse eats dirt? I found this little secret out when I chased him off of his treat tub, I reached my royal nose into the tub to get a bite and found dirt! I rolled my eyes in disgust and looked at the SPS, it was a royal order to her that dirt should never be placed in my treats. Her response was "Sir Darby, that is one funny face you are making. That tub has special supplements for your friend."
One-I do not make funny faces, I am expressive
Two-Zen is not my friend, he is my subject
Three-Dirt is NOT a supplement and that ZeoComplete has miracle clay, clay is dirt...enough said

I got to meet the little prince

It turns out that my SPS has a little prince living in her house. I have seen him at the ranch, he has two elderly horses that he cares for each day. He has come to visit me a few times but we have never done anything together.
This past Saturday I watched as the little prince set up an obstacle course in the arena. I thought he might be planning on entertaining the two elderly horses and I planned to watch. As it turn out the little prince intended on entertaining me. The little prince took me to the arena and we had our first ride. I wore just a bareback pad, a lovely green leather one bought just for me. The little prince lead me through the course so we could get to know each other better, then he rode me through the course. I take my royal responsibilities seriously. I was very careful with the little prince and he had a good time. At the end of our ride the little prince spent time grooming me and telling me what a grand horse I am. This photo is of the little prince brushing me, I like his helmet on the post in the foreground. He wore his helmet, it is a safety item that the SPS won't let him mount up without, even though I would never purposely dismount this young man.
