The Accountant

So the SPS to a personality test about me and this is what it said:

Your horse is DLAF- The Accountant
(Dominant Lazy Afraid Friendly)

Slow, steady and determined describes this personality. They do not need excitement or fanfare. They like predictability. They want you to have a plan and stick to it. The friendship is important to them, so it is important for them to be honored and appreciated.

Do

Keep training progressive
Ride in the box
Repeat lessons often
Respect them
Be their friend and leader
Lots of positive reward

Don’t

Skip steps
Change routine
Surprise them
Be in a hurry
Have huge expectations
Bully them

Yep this is pretty much me to a T. I don't like surprises or being hurried, if you want to bully me I will just plant my feet and stand my ground. I am friendly and love attention. As befitting a royal horse I should be honored and respected. The SPS and I are at odds about riding in the box. She thinks it means we should not do things out of the ordinary, I think it means that she should stay in her "box" or balanced space when she is on my back.
The SPS says she will do things slightly different now that she has this information. I hope she focuses on the positive rewards part-that would be extra treats right?

Love sick...

Click on the play button to see my latest antics
I have lost 200 pounds and I have the SPS worried. She says my behavior has become obsessive and unhealthy. You saw the video-does this look obsessive to you? Yes that is what I do all day, but so what? Yes I do that all night, at least I understand dedication. The Cow Boss complained that I kept him up all night with my whinnying for Whinny...buy earplugs if it bothers you.
Whinny is the first horse that I have liked. I have always preferred to be alone, I didn't want any other horses in my pasture and could care less if they wanted to sniff noses. I am not to sure how to act and I want her to know I am serious. The humans say I am like a stalker, I say I am just dedicated to my quest.
It seems that I have gone to far. My lady love has been moved to the far side of the ranch. I can't see her and now I am really disturbed. The SPS says I will get over it and that I should talk to my other neighbor. She promised me a grooming session and play time in the arena-like that matters.
Well I am going to work on regaining my royal demeanor and make amends to the Cow Boss. The SPS is giving me extra treats so I will not get too skinny.

Before and after

As you can see from the before and after pictures, love does funny things to a royal horse. I am tense, I can't relax, I am always on the move, and I have lost my appetite. Rumor has it the the SPS and some of her friends think that if I was put to work at a job I would return to my laid-back self. I have a job, it is ruling my realm and protecting my lady love.

Loosing weight

I have been loosing weight, I am having trouble eating because I am busy fretting. I have been fretting about my lady looking at the scrawny appy across the way, now things are worse. His royal blingness is back and he is ensconced in the pasture next to me. Now I can't tell if my lady is looking at me or Sir Spotty Butt. I pace, I pin my ears at any possible suitors, and I keep my ladies attention-it is hard work and I am dropping weight. The SPS has been giving me my grain, I can hardly eat it I am so busy. She assure me that I look much better now that I have been working out, she says my tighter tummy makes me look younger. She also says I need a JOB to distract me...I don't think so, I am working plenty hard right now. She mentioned that I might need to pony Jack around so he can get his trotting in. I pony Sir Spotty Butt, I will also give him a swift kick if he turns his eye to my lady while I am doing it.

See this horse? I am trying to have him banished from my kingdom. What is his offense you ask? Well the scoundrel is making time with the love of my life. I have lost weight, I think my ribs may be showing, because I can't graze. I have to keep my eye on this Lothario at all times lest he cause my lady to stray too far from my side. I want the SPS to give me a moment in the same pasture with him so I can have a dignified dual with him, she won't comply with my wishes. Well be that as it may, I will retain my ladies favor.

The love of my life

This is the love of my life. Her name is Whinny and I think she is beautiful. I want to touch noses with her, nibble on her shoulder. I want to be around her all of the time. When the SPS takes me away from her I throw a big fat fit. I am hoping that we can share a pasture, but the SPS says that I will become a royal pain if that were to happen.

Hey baby

Here I am making my best "come hither" faces to the hootie mare in the next pasture.
She is the one I am in love with.

Once there was a princess

Before I came to live with peasants I lived surrounded by royalty. One of the humans was the princess that was my owner.
Said princess came for a visit this weekend, it was grand to see her. She brought me treats.

Never take me for granted

The SPS took me out to work cows on Monday. I was not amused to be taken away from the pretty mare that lives in the pasture across the alley from me. In fact I was down right cross about it. To top it of when the SPS got me to the arena to warm up and get ready to ride she just took for granted that I would conduct myself in the gentlemanly royal manner that is my usual nature...well that was not going to be tolerated. I am one royal horse that will not stand being taken for granted! I threw a royal fit. I hopped, I bucked, I ignored her, and I even threatened to run away, I acted unridable and scary . I made sure that the SPS understood that she needed to not assume that I would always behave. She needed to learn that I have many facets and to be prepared for the horse that shows up each day, not the horse that she assumes will be showing up. I am pretty sure she learned her lesson.
