Getting ready

Here I am with the SPS. I am wearing my new saddle in preparation for a lesson. It seems I have been accused of "daisy picking" while being ridden. Well I can't help it if I day dream, I mean multi-task while being ridden. Running a kingdom is hard work. Seem that sometimes when I am thinking about my royal duties I don't notice some of the things that are occurring around me, this results in me getting startled on occasion which results in a big jump sideways. The SPS does not like it when I do that...well she can quit her daisy picking also.
So we are both working on keeping ourselves focused on our ride and not other things.

Dressed for dinner

As you may recall my kingdom was invaded by a foreign air force. I thought they were sent as ambassadors to broker an understanding between myself and their ruler. I am beginning to think that they are nothing more than terrorists...they are really starting to get on my royal nerves. I made plans for a formal dinner, I hoped that they would view it as a farewell meal and leave...it didn't work. No matter what my personal feelings are, it is my responsibility to dress appropriately for State dinners so I donned my tuxedo.
Hopefully the visitors will miss their families soon and return to their foreign land.

Dessert is served

Here is a photo of the SPS feeding me my treats. Yes it is as it should be...she is properly attired and is waiting on me as befitting my royal status. The SPS would never admit to her peers that she stands and does this, she has her image to protect. She is tender hearted and enjoys this time we spend together while I eat.

Saddle

This is my new saddle. It is all mine! I am not going to share it with "he of the fancy spotted butt". The SPS and I tried it out on Saturday and it was befitting my royal stature. Hard to find a saddle that fits my stature, me being royal and all. The SPS says the issue is the weight I tape in at-1,350 lbs- I know the tape is defective.
I plan on having many opportunities to parade my new accoutrement publicly, to be worshiped as is appropriate.

Invading air force

My kingdom has been invaded by a foreign air-force. At first I thought they were a group of visiting dignitaries sent to pave the way for a royal visit from another kingdom. It turns out this was not so, they are a group of terrorists bent on disturbing my peace and stealing my food. To add insult to injury, they have decided that my back is a perfectly good airfield. I have informed the SPS that she is to take what ever measures necessary to vanquish these invaders from my presence. She said she would do what she could, but I will have to deal with a few of them until winter time. I am going to see if I can come up with a treaty of some sort with the pests. If they stay off of me I will leave some of my treats for them and they can use my pasture mate as an airfield.

Skywatch Friday season 4 episode 40

This morning's sunrise. It is almost as lovely as I am. Not too bad for a peasant ranch.

I will not!!!

The SPS seems to think that I should walk through sprinklers to come and get my treats. I will NOT!!! A royal horse should not be subjected to being doused by irrigation water. That water has gross things in it and should never touch my hair. I get to drink the same water as the humans, so why shouldn't that water be what irrigates the pasture? The SPS says that isn't the way things are done. Well it looks like things need to change. The first change being that the SPS will walk through the sprinklers to bring me my treats....

It is that good

The thing about being a royal horse is you must look good from all sides. I look good coming or going! Get a gander at my royal tail, yes it is all mine-no extensions on this royal rear. It is getting time to have my mane and tail groomed and braided once more. The braiding protects my furnishings and makes everything so fluffy and wavy when the braids are removed, maybe the SPS should braid her hair too.

How can you resist?

Look at that face. Yes I am winking and I will tell you why, I have trained the SPS to perform a new task. What task is that you ask? Well it is the task of hand-feeding me my treats. I have convinced her that the only way I will eat my treats with the supplements in them is if she hand-feeds me the entire thing. If she puts the bucket down before they are all gone I walk off and let my pasture mate eat them. The SPS wants me to eat all of my treats so she will pick the bucket up and keep feeding me by hand. She is so easy to train, it is a joy to work with her.
Yep it is good to be King!

DIRT!

I think I mentioned earlier that my peasant pasture mate eats dirt in his treat tub. I find that just so disgusting! I also mentioned that the SPS had the equine therapist check me over, remember she poked my royal rear too much and I was going to kick her? Well said therapist felt it necessary to have the SPS add dirt to my treat tub. DIRT! Why would a royal horse want to eat dirt. The SPS tried to tell me that it was minerals that I need, whatever I know what dirt is. You can see from this photo how I feel about the new addition to my tub. I ate all of the treats that had no dirt and left the rest, my pasture mate can have it since he has acquired a taste for dirt. I have informed the SPS that she had better not add anymore dirt to my treats or she will be sorry. Yep I know where there is an arena that we visit...dirt, I'll show her dirt!
